LEADERSHIP

CARL BURATTI, PE
President, Co-Owner, Principal Electrical Engineer

Carl Buratti founded Empowered Engineering Group (buratti & associates) in 2001 to fill a need for architectural electrical engineering in Los Angeles. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Emphasis from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. Carl has extensive knowledge and experience with project management, electrical construction, investigating existing conditions, Electrical Engineering, Plan Checking, Due Diligence, Peer Review, Expert Witness, and Construction Observation. Carl is a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in the states of California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Carl is an Original Founder of Food Forward, Inc., which rescues surplus produce each week from fruit trees, farmer’s markets, and the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. 100% of these fresh fruits and vegetables are donated to over 575 hunger relief agencies across 8 counties in Southern California. He currently serves on its Board of Advisors. In his spare time, he is a backyard Astronomer, coin collector, and Scuba Diver.

GLEN E. VAUGHN
Vice President, Co-Owner, Engineering Manager

Originally a transplant from the East Coast, Glen brings to Empowered Engineering Group over 30 years of experience in the electrical field for high-end architectural residences. He began his career as an electrical contractor when he founded Wired for Hire in 1987. Glen made the jump from electrical construction to electrical design in 1996 when he joined a local electrical engineering firm. Then in 2003, Glen founded VRG, Inc., an Electrical Consulting firm. Since co-founding Empowered Engineering Group with Carl Buratti, Glen has continued to bring his considerable talents and attention to detail to each unique project.

Glen is also a guitarist and songwriter. He shares a wondrous and creative life with his wife, doll maker, and artist, Stefanie Vega.
